Electronic Security Association (ESA)

www.alarm.org

Electronic Security Association (ESA), a  trade association, has evolved into the largest professional trade association in the United States with the purpose of representing, promoting and enhancing the growth and professional development of the electronic life safety, security, and integrated systems industry. The association supports new technology and applications with customized and relevant training and proactively promotes the industry through consumer awareness activities supported by trade and media relations programs.

The Goal:

ESA was looking to increase public awareness for the products and services their member companies offer. ESA contacted Dallas Partners to build out a public facing portal to achieve their goal. Dallas Partners worked with ESA to identify a secondary purpose for the website: to become a lead generation tool for their member companies. A site visitor now has a tool to research the importance of residential, commercial, and institutional safety plus a way to find and contact a member company close by.

The Solutions:

Home Page

The Alarm.org home page instantly communicates that this is a project created by ESA. The design is professional, appealing and fits with the overall ESA style guide. The primary call-to-action is the member company proximity search. The secondary purpose of the site is to act as a safety resource for the public.

Member company proximity search

When a user inputs all or part of his/her address to find a company near by, the system uses a combination of functions to display results. The results are created with a Dallas Partners custom built API call to a third party master system of records and combines that with a Google Maps API call. The resulting list shows real-time information about each company sorted by proximity to the address entered and overlaid on an embedded Google map.

Chief Corner with YouTube Integration

Another feature of Alarm.org is the embedded YouTube Videos imported directly from the ESA YouTube Channel. This page is designed for fire and police chiefs across the United States. The page also imports news from leading industry sources in real time with no manual input.
