Analytics Integration
The main purpose of including analytics is to help you improve your online presence. Using analytic software integrated with your website allows you to successfully measure how people use your site, how they find it in the first place, how they navigate within it and how they become customers.
Dallas Partners exclusively uses Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses a next generation analytic software system. The best part about using Google Analytics is that there is not a long term maintenance cost. - It's FREE!
This analytics software help you benchmark your site's performance against the industry average, help content manage your site, determine what users are looking for, and identify which page they decide to leave. One critical benefit an analytics package offers is the ability to identify the point when users convert from browsers to customers. When analyzed correctly, needed changes can be pin-pointed and the success of those changes can be measured. Google Analytics offers many reports, for example:
- Overlay site usage
- Visitor overview
- Clickable maps display visits by locations.
- Landing page optimization
- Top exit pages
- Keywords used to find your site
- Top pages viewed
- Many Many more
Example: Using Analytics to help determine ROI
A website named socialproductdesign.com has a cost of $20,000 and we are getting about 1,350 visitors per month to the site, so the owners spend (1,350 x 12 = 16,200 visitors) 20,000 / 16,200 = $1.23 per person that visit the site in a one year period. All good websites have a 3-4 year life. Assuming this site will last three years and assuming, however unlikely, user visits do not grow but stay steady, it costs $0.41 a visitor over this three year period. (This example does not including intangible values added to the brand your website provides). This calculation is now compared to the value generated directly from the website to calculate the ROI.
This is another reason SEM is so valuable. If you can spend an extra $50 a month to get an extra 500 monthly visitors, then your cost per visitor is greatly decreased which means your ROI should be increased.
