Before the intranet is created, Dallas Partners follows a standard planning and delivery process, developed in-house, designed to optimize the development experience for the client. Below is an example of the typical process followed by Dallas Partners.
Discovery
- In order for Dallas Partners to gain an understanding of the goals of your intranet project, a number of questions are presentated. For example:
- Who will manage the content?
- Is Active Directory integration required?
- Will there be a need for self service?
- Is there a need for third party systems integration (benefits, 401k, LMS, etc...)?
- Once we receive these answers, we can present you with a general price range for the different options we are capable of delivering
- If you feel that we may be a good fit for you and one of the options for you is doable, then we will build out a Technical Project Plan
Creation of Technical Project Plan
- We will create a plan that outlines all the needed elements for the intranet based off of the discovery answers and brain storming sessions.
- This is a collaborative process and revisions will be made as this document nears finalization
- The technical project plan will Include the full cost and line item pricing. If you decide that you do not want an function, simply cross it out from the pricing schedule and calculate your new total. All pricing is transparent. There are no hidden costs
- Include a delivery timeline
Master Service Agreement
- The MSA will include all legal language, an area for signatures and the technical project plan will be attached as a schedule.
- Once the MSA is signed, the programming will begin and the creative brief will be developed
Development of Creative Brief
- The purpose of the creative brief is to build the intranet’s design around your brand and to develop a user interface that will be intuitive, easy to use and effective. The creative brief will run in parallel of programming.
- Creative brief discovery questions will be presented and answered.
- Once the creative brief is completed, presented and accepted, the design work can begin. Two designs will be created. One design will be chosen as the finalist to use for the intranet. Tweaking, feedback and collaborative opinions are encouraged.
Programming, Development and Configuration
- Programming, development and configuration is underway once the MSA is signed.
- After a design is chosen and accepted, the design implementation process will begin. The design will be converted into a scalable set of skins to be used in the intranet. The navigation and work flow will also be created.
- Once the design is implemented, either Dallas Partners or your company will be free to add content.
- Security roles are defined and assigned to users.
QA (Quality Assurance)
- Software testing is iterative and will execute as each element is created. After all programming is completed, Dallas Partners encourages our clients to perform user interaction testing while the Dallas Partners staff performs security vulnerability, validation and any additional functionality testing. All user roles are tested. Active directory and any third party integration is tested.
Delivery
- Once testing is completed, the intranet is complete and made live.
